Spring Start Up
Complete sprinkler system start-up for the Spring season
What is a Spring Start up?
In the spring, systems are thoroughly checked for coverage and programmed for the appropriate amount of water required to ensure your plant material is kept healthy. Our technicians also do any necessary repairs so that the system operates efficiently throughout the season.
What’s included in the Spring Start up?
Our Spring Start Up service includes:
- Filling the system with water
- Running through each zone
- Inspecting all sprinkler heads
- Setting and checking rotation and coverage
- Checking the system for leaks
- Setting controller and rain sensor
Spring Start up Checklist
✔ Open the system main water valve slowly to allow pipes to fill with water gradually.
If these valves are opened too quickly, sprinkler main lines are subjected to high surge pressures, uncontrolled flow and water hammer, which may cause them to crack or burst.
✔Verify the proper operation of each station valve by manually activating all zones from the controller or Hydrawise APP.
✔ Walk through each station on the controller, checking for proper operation of the zone. Check for proper operating pressure (low pressure indicates a line break or missing sprinkler), proper rotation and adjustment of sprinkler heads and adequate coverage.
Check and clean filters on poorly performing sprinklers. Adjust heads to grade as necessary and replace anything deemed damaged or faulty.
✔Reprogram the controller for automatic watering based on the current landscapes’ needs or the customers preferences.
✔Uncover and clean the system weather sensor (if applicable, such as where a wifi controller has not been installed).
✔ Once all of this done, the system is good to go for the season and any major repairs or extensions to the existing system can be scheduled for completion with one of our technicians.
